If you are not caught up on LOST cease and desist from reading this post or you will be spoiled!
Have you stopped crying yet? Ok, that’s an exaggeration, but really I was a mess during the whole submarine-killing-off-major-characters blitz attack. There was tons of little stuff in this ep, tons of big stuff, aah! I can’t believe it’s all going to be wrapped up this month. That alone makes me want to cry
There’s so much that isn’t going to make sense to us until we see the “whole picture”, like how the ALT interactions are all going to collide and how much each character knows of their ‘past life’. In the hospital, the dialogue and looks between Jack & Locke are very strange. But moving on…
Were you confused when Sayid says “Welcome to Hydra Island” to Jack? They weren’t cutting us any breaks with a two week gap in episodes, it took me a bit to realize that the last time we saw Jack he was blown away from the beach explosion and that Smocke must have paddled him over.
Forgive me if you are one of the few people who actually like Kate’s character, but I was kind of happy to hear Widmore talk so casually about off-ing her, like ‘well she’s not on the list” and then to see her face when Sawyer tells her that her name was crossed out. Then, to see her get shot was honestly amusing to me. (I know, I know, I’m terrible. I just could really do without her character messing up Jack, Sawyer, Juliet, Claire, Aaron, etc.)
Bernard = total stretch. I’m willing to go with almost everything the Lost writers throw at me, but emergency oral surgery? That was just the silliest, most contrived scene. So it served the purpose that maybe Desmond has already gotten a hold of Bernard or to really drive through Jack’s head that the 815′ers are all weirdly connected. Still. Painfully silly!
When Jack does visit Cooper, don’t you just love seeing him vegged out in the wheelchair? (Wow I’m totally vicious tonight! If it weren’t so late I’d have a glass of wine and relax, lol) It’s just that he was such an evil man to Locke, Sawyer and who knows who else, that it reinforces my theory that whatever the Losties have done in their pre-ATL timeline is affecting their ultimate life/happiness in the ATL.
Got any takers on the significance of the music box? It’s playing “Catch a Falling Star” which Claire wanted the adoptive parents to sing to Aaron, but not sure if I’m spacing out and missing some deeper meaning.
Sayid’s death was heartbreaking in slow motion; I loved that he redeemed himself, and it seems that his interaction with Desmond is what brought him around (PS- Can’t wait to see Desmond and happy to hear that he’s alive!). But of course the really heartbreaking scene was Sun & Jin dying together in the sub. I was disappointed that Jin wouldn’t just leave and save himself (and that Sun didn’t go crazy insisting he leave), but after his final “I won’t leave you. I will never leave you again.” I gave up that disappointment and accepted this scene for what it was. Me sobbing on the couch.
It seems that lately my husband always has some Lost quip he wants me to include “on the blog”, and he did say that Lost death scenes don’t have the same sting anymore, since the characters are still popping up in the ATL. He said that Lost is pretty much like the A-Team, no one really dies. It does soften the blow a bit now that we are seeing them again, but something about that little touching music they play during a character’s death scene gets me every time.
At the end of the episode, Jack is talking to Locke in the hallway and says “I can help you John, I wish you believed me.” We had just heard Locke mumble “I wish you believed me” earlier, and this seemed to stop him in his tracks. I’m back to wondering just how much ALT Locke knows about his previous island life.
Next week looks awesome with the Jacob/Man in Black action, and looks like we’re going to get some answers on the ‘young boy in the jungle’ thing. Totally loved seeing first season Locke talking about the “two sides, one light one dark” thing.
I’d l-o-v-e to hear your thoughts on tonight’s episode in the comments. And if you blogged about Lost, please feel free to drop your link so I can stalk out read your thoughts as well!

Last episode I said out loud at the TV when Sun and Jin got together that if they killed one of the characters off I’d be livid since they played with the audience for so long by keeping them apart. I had a feeling that one of them would die, but hoped in my heart that it wouldn’t happen. I died a little too inside seing Jin and Sun go down in the sub.
LOST is dead to me.

I remember you saying that! Isn’t that how this is in this show though, the second you feel bad for someone (like Shannon) & their story is done, boom, dead. Still doesn’t make it right for Sun & Jin though.
I sobbed when Jin and Sun died. Sobbed I tell you. I have no idea how this can end well but I’m holding out hope!
I agree with your husband- the lost dying sequences aren’t as upsetting anymore cause you know they are going to be back in the flashbacks/forwards
I said the same thing when Sayid died again. He’s died and almost died so many times– its like eh. (wow how morbid did that just sound?)
I wanted to know why was Sayid so normal on the ship? He was back to the old sayid and not the possessed scary sayid. Did I miss something?
Complicated mama – Sayid said he had a wake up or something when he went to shoot Desmond that snapped him back to his real self. Funny thing, I liked Sayid’s character but I wasn’t upset about him dying. Probably because he’s been Zombie Sayid and acting like a putz after he came back from the dead.
Sun and Jin? Still bitter…

I don’t remember Sayid saying anything about a wake-up call. Guess I need to rewatch the past few eps. I got lazy and stopped blogging lost. Just dealing with too much nonsense right now.
Anyway…I had a love/hate relationship with last night’s ep. Flocke eliminated both Kwans (sp?). So what do you think – was Jack right? If Sayid hadn’t pulled the wire would they have been okay? Is he (and Jacob) right – Flocke can’t kill them, but was it Sayid’s decision that ultimately was responsible for the explosion? Am I overthinking this?
I totally thought Sun would have said that Jin must escape for the sake of their daughter. But nope, she gave in so easily and let him die with her.

Glad to hear that someone else doesn’t like Kate. Last night as I watched Sun and Jin dying and saw the useless lump that is Kate on the beach, I was crushed. I was glad Sawyer knocked her down to size by telling her her name was crossed out.
Sun and Jin RIP.
Well, I FINALLY got to watch this weekend (I’m always behind you guys:). I was also saddened by Sun and Jin’s demise, but I was happy he didn’t leave her behind. After all they went through, I would not have expected him to leave–even for their daughter.
Lots of stuff happening… can’t wait for this week’s episode.
There were 2 quotes that I wanted to remember, and of course I forgot them. One was when Jack said something like “Hurley, get me the first aid kit!” Like the sub’s first aid kit is going to help that gunshot wound. HA!
