I mentioned in an earlier post my involvement with 77kids Do Good Day & I have been meaning to post a little recap of the event here for my readers. It was a really fun day; I came home from the shore just to participate and I guess it was an all-around good use of my time, because you know what happened that day? It rained. Actually, it poured. Like buckets and buckets of water flooding Springdale Road and the entrance to the Garden State Discovery Museum!
The rain actually helped us for a little while, though, as indoor play places thrive when the weather is bad (especially in summer with extra kids home from school!) so when I arrived through the downpour there was already a bunch of people waiting at the “craft table.” The Discovery Museum let us set up right at their craft table in the museum so it was easy to capture people as they were walking by. Since we had tons of treats to reward our little do-gooders, we got plenty of families to stop and fill out cards for Operation Gratitude!
It really was a fun day, and I couldn’t be happier with the activity we chose. Operation Gratitude is a great organization, and this event was a win-win for everyone involved! We all brought our kids with us & Liz's lovely daughters painted faces, helped set up & acted as baby wranglers for those of us with little ones (yes, believe it or not Rayna actually wanted to play in the museum and not just make cards!)
As a final “thank you” for being a Do Good Day Blogger, 77kids is hosting us at the Grand Opening of the new store at the Chery Hill Mall this Saturday! I get to go in before the store opens for breakfast and check out all the goodies, and then it’s your turn! This Saturday, July 30th is the grand opening at 10 AM. Totally unrelated to this I got a postcard in the mail about the grand opening and I hear that 77kids has all sorts of goodies if you stop by that day to check them out! I can’t wait to go and shop the cute kid’s clothes for Rayna…why is it so easy to buy clothes for her and not for me? Click here to check out the 77kids website if you want to look around right now.
