I mentioned earlier in my trip that I would be conducting some random giveaways of the Bergan/ASPCA car safety harness & I would (of course) share the fun with you. It has been really fun being a “doggie fairy godmother” gifting harnesses to vacationing doggies all around the area. I have two harnesses left, one medium and one large, and I will bring them with me to a tweet-up at the Avalon Golden Inn this Sunday. If you’re interested let me know and we can meet up!
My first giveaway recipient was my brother’s dog, Bentley. Bentley is a Shih Tzu and he has some motion sickness issues and doesn’t love going for car rides. My brother was interested in trying a harness for Bentley to keep him safe in his car travels, including the two hour ride home. Here is a video I took of Bentley in Eric’s car all hooked up:
During our trip I’ve kept my eyes open for people traveling with pets (I really did try to wave down a guy who had two dogs literally hanging out of the windows in his car, but he didn’t stop! lol) and here are some of the doggies I’ve met and gifted harnesses to:
Cape May - Pasha, a baby pitt bull, and her owners were really excited for the harness (hope she doesn't outgrow it too fast!)
Cape May - This cutie is Savannah, I didn't have an XL on hand when we met, but her owners took one for their other dog, Chloe
Strathmere - This is Foxy & Pinot. Their owner, Jimmy, took one small (I only had the one left, "smalls" were very easy to find!)
Avalon - This beautiful Doberman is Misha, she didn't really want her picture taken with the harness, can you tell?
Sea Isle City - I met Nala on the street & she was kind of a local celebrity, everyone wanted to stop and say hi while I was taking her pic!
I have two not pictured, another XL for Samson (black lab) and a M for my friend Sarah’s Cocker Spaniel, Cordi. I can’t believe the timing, but while I’m at the shore I hear that Sarah got into a car accident & seriously damaged her car. I called my friend right away, to make sure she was ok, get the scoop, etc. and she tells me that she got in the car accident with her dog Cordi in the car! Poor Cordi “yelled” and lunged in the car during the collision, but luckily she and Sarah were both ok. Sarah told me she was just talking about how she saw my Holiday Roads blog post and was interested in finding a harness for Cordi. Needless to say, I am saving one for her!
Like I mentioned earlier, I have two giveaways left, so if you are in the area on Sunday, stop by the Golden Inn in Avalon, NJ for the Phillies pre-game broadcast show where there will also be a blog/tweet-up happening. Tweet me or email me & I’ll save a harness for you!
To see more of the Holiday Roads travel stories (there’s pics of Buddie Love there too!), be sure to check out HolidayRoads.info
Disclosure: I am being compensated for my participation in this project through Collective Bias. The giveaway items mentioned in this post were sampled to me. All opinions are mine.

the harness works great! Thanks Bergan/ASPCA!
I am really interested, but I live in Austin! I have a golden retriever puppy, but she is going to be a big dog someday. She goes everywhere with me, so she would really love it.
