I’ve been an absentee blogger again this week, as I was packing up the house for our move (August 20th is coming up super fast, aagh!) and also getting ready for just about the *biggest* blog conference ever: Blogher!
Since I always assume that my readers don’t know anything about the blog world (since at least I know my family sure doesn’t), Blogher is a huge blogging conference for women that is held in a different location each year. Since this year it is in NYC, I figured it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for me to take the train in and see what it is all about.
And boy, is it all about being busy. There is SO much to do here, from conference parties, to private parties, to conference sessions, to the exhibit hall, that I am already super pooped from a day and a half.
As you can see from my picture up top, I had a chance to meet Extreme Home Makeover’s Michael Maloney at a special event hosted by Hanes. I’ll do more of a recap later of course (I’ll try to not bore you to death, but as I’ve learned from post-conference wrap-ups of the past, this might be more like a couple or several posts
)
In all of the brand to blogger publicity events, I not only got to meet Michael, but I got a quick photo op with Bruce Jenner (argh! So blurry!)
And even a rather unflattering photo of me with Rayna’s favorite “Dora Schora” (Why did it take me forever to realize that last word was how Rayna says “the explorer”?)
This conference is SO much bigger and crazier than the more relaxed and Southern pace of Blissdom, and of course, a whole different animal than Disney Social Media Moms. I don’t even have much more time here in this post because we’re off to “the next thing”.
As a sidenote, the lovely people at Microsoft Windows have loaned me a super-fast pc (unlike my horrendously buggy netbook) and it’s been great having something with top of the line hardware and software. I’m even blogging from their nifty program called “Windows Live Writer” which looks almost like MS Word, but let’s me publish it straight to WordPress. I LOVE it, since you can compose your entire blog posts (even pictures) while offline and then post/schedule them up when online. How convenient would that be for when I’m at the shore accomplishing almost nothing because of my horrendous internet situation? ![]()
I’m not sure if I need a disclosure, since the PC is a loaner, but as I mentioned Microsoft has loaned me a PC to try out their software and share my experience. I was not compensated and all opinions are mine.

I LOOOOVE Windows Live Writer! Use it every day!
It’s been great to run into you and get to hang out with you several times! …and I wish I had gotten a pic of myself with Dora…Ali might totally think I was a celeb with credentials like that.
Great meeting you at BlogHer. You’re right about it being busy. I’m still trying to regroup from it all.
