If you follow me on twitter (or know me in real life, as yes, I have been talking about this a bit lately), you may have seen me pining away for #DisneySMmoms. This year in February, I was able to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and I had the most AMAZING time.
In case you are new to my blog, or would like to relive a little magic
Here are the four, yes, four posts I wrote to recap some of my experience at Disney Social Media Moms:
It was such an amazing blend of hanging out with blogging friends (and of course, meeting new ones), attending an absolutely first-rate conference AND the huge bonus of having our families able to attend and enjoy themselves during all the events. The hardest part of going to conferences for me is leaving my family and feeling guilty that I’m leaving them for purely selfish reasons. While I participated in the Disney conference activities Marc and Rayna were having a BLAST, and we added an extra day at the beginning and end of our trip so I didn’t feel like I missed out on any of Rayna’s “first Disney moments”.
NOW here’s what all the clamoring is about. There WILL be a 2011 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and now that many of us have experienced the awesomeness first-hand (and the myriad of others who wanted to go the first time and couldn’t) are scrambling to get in. Details have been mysterious, so we’ve all been obsessively tweeting, trying to figure out the dates, registration information and all other pertitent info.
Yesterday some of us who are on a list for future Disney SM event information received a “save the date” email for the conference: March 17-20, 2011. No more information has been provided about registration, but as some of those who are directly involved with the conference (like the absolutely adorable sisters at 5 Minutes for Mom) have tried to provide a little information through Twitter to let us know that registration is very limited, will be at a specific (undisclosed) time, and of course, sadly, not everyone who even received the save the date email will make it into the exclusively small event.
For those of you who are great with dates, you might be ahem-ing me right now. YES. The conference is a mere couple of weeks before my due date. It seems unlikely that I will be able to attend. My heart skipped a million beats when I got the much anticipated save the date email, and then dropped to the floor when I see that the conference is a full month later this year than last.
So what am I going to do? It is funny, but Marc is just as desperate to go again as I am (from reading the tweets, it seems like many of the husbands from last year are this way!) So he has offered to drive us down, with everything we need should an early labor happen (which, if Rayna’s induced 42 week birth has anything to say about this time around, shouldn’t happen)….
Yes, I’ve lost my mind. But this is my plan: Conference registration might be a real free-for-all, and I might not even get a ticket in the first place. So I’m going to try my best to go. And if I don’t get to register, then I’ll be perfectly at peace with staying home and knowing that I had done all that I could!

I think…wait and see if you get an invite and then blog about it and see what everybody’s reactions are! I’m so worried about you driving down 95, late at night, go in to labor NO CELL PHONE SIGNAL, NO IDEA WHERE A HOSPITAL IS!! OMG!! I’m upset just thinking about it.
You know I appreciate this devotion (lol!) but I guess we’ll have to see what your doctor says about this crazy plan. I think the drive will be one of the hardest parts – you might have to stop overnight (maybe even more than once.) Find out what the cancellation policies are too. You could book the trip and then just cancel if you don’t feel comfortable with it as it gets closer. Marc may be pushing both you and Rayna around ; )
Oh and Melissa brings up a good point about the hospitals. You should research all of the hospitals along your driving route!
