I wanted to let my local friends know about an event coming up in Warminster, PA for a worthy cause. My good friend Blaire lost her mom to cancer a few years ago and now her uncle (her mom’s brother) and her aunt are both battling different types of cancers at the same time.
Blaire’s aunt Sharon Biehl has an inoperable form of brain cancer and has been undergoing treatment since November. She has been unable to work due to her loss of vision and ongoing medical care. Blaire’s uncle Joe has also been unable to work his regular schedule because of the dramatic colon cancer surgery he underwent last year. In an effort to help them raise money for their mounting medical debt, a benefit is being held on June 25, 2011 from 7 PM to 11 PM at the Johnsville Science Museum in Warminster.
The benefit is going to be a Beef and Beer, with food, beer, music, raffles and prizes. Tickets are $35 and the event is for ages 21 and older.
Why not gather some friends to hang out on a Saturday night and raise money for a really worthy cause? If you can’t make it that night, please consider donating any amount via PayPal.
How often do we buy something because the proceeds might possibly benefit cancer research or individuals affected by cancer? Here is an opportunity to do something where the money will go right to a local family in their time of need.
