…and there’s reason to believe, maybe next month will be better than the last…
That song is an earworm, isn’t it? I bet you’ll be inexplicably singing “Long December” when you wake up in the morning. Bwah-ha-ha!
So it’s not like this has been a terrible month or anything. Just a crazy one. I went ahead and made like a zillion meals and then proceeded to sit on my couch playing games (I’m an addict), watching TV (we can’t stop watching Breaking Bad on Netflix AND now all the fall shows are starting!) and trying to get in the swing of everything starting up again.
And, as if you couldn’t tell by that absolutely, stinkin’ adorable picture, my little Rayna girl went back to school, for her last year of preschool. I can’t believe how big she is. She’s this great big person, who says all sorts of great big things, and will be in Kindergarten next year! I die.
Ok, I know. That’s not for a while. Let me rein myself back in. School started and we’re trying to get in the swing of how baby Marc’s naps are going. Sometimes he takes two, sometimes he takes one–it’s confusing. When Rayna turned one year, she was like, “boom! I’m done with two naps.” Then she’d take a solid 3 hour snoozefest from 1-4, maybe even almost 5! It was heavenly. Now Marc is confused and even on days that he only takes one nap, his afternoon nap is something like 2-4 and or maybe 3:30. Boo hiss!
My last excuse is the current state of my allergies. Holy cow! I thought spring allergies were bad. Fall allergies are knocking me on my rear. I can’t seem to find the right slurry of meds to keep me feeling good, but not awake all night. I’m taking a Sudafed here, a Claritin there, Allegra-D was a huge mistake. It’s a lot of trial and error. I finally broke down and went to the Allergist this spring when the pain was getting too great. They did the whole allergy panel and all these asthma tests and it wasn’t good. My back lit up like a Christmas tree. I’m apparently allergic to every pollen, tree, grass, etc. in the WORLD. What I am not allergic to? Mice and cockroaches. Thanks doctor. I must be cut out for city life I guess. (Oh, and they also tried to tell me that I’m allergic to a bunch of foods, including peanut butter. Which I adore and have always eaten with no problems.)
In this messy month we’ve done a bunch of fun things that I’ve been wanting to blog about, so hopefully this post has cleared my blog slump a little bit and I’ll have the head to sit down and write some more posts. In the meantime, got a good allergy medicine?

It sounds like you are in a fall slump! Well, the slurry that is getting me by is: Claritin, Allegra (not D), Sudafed (as needed), Omnaris nasal spray, and Patanol eye drops.
The allergist told me I was allergic to peanut butter and that is when I figured the whole test was a bunch of hooey. Only real way to tell is trial and error. Not allergic to mice and cockroaches….that is hilarious.
Your little one is adorable!
