This past weekend, I was included in a group of fellow Philly Social Media Moms for the JDRF One Walk in Bucks County, PA. If you are not familiar, the JDRF is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the walk was a fundraiser to raise money and awareness for Type 1 diabetes. While my household is not personally affected by diabetes, I do have friends living with Type 1 diabetes, as well as friends whose children are living with the disease. I was honored to be a part of the event thanks to our sponsor, JJ Cole products’ BundleMe.
If you have a small baby in the colder months, no doubt you have heard of BundleMe. If you haven’t heard of it, it is an ingenious cover that attaches on to the carseat or stroller and then zips closed to bundle your little one inside without a bunch of stray blankets or bulky clothing (which may interfere with the safety of the car seat and straps). Since Jack was born in February, I got plenty of use out of my original BundleMe that I used on his infant carrier. I was hesitant at first wondering if I would use another BundleMe, since Jack is almost done with his infant carrier (it is getting way too heavy to carry around!), but then I found out that BundleMe comes in a larger size that accommodates children in a stroller up to 3 years old!
The setup of the BundleMe is so quick and easy to use, I was able to pull it out of the package and have it on the stroller in seconds. There is elastic around the edges of the product that you just stretch over the frame of the stroller seat, and then use the velcro strap to hold it on to the back of the stroller. You can see both in the photo below, as well as a close up of the easily wipeable fabric (and a handy zippered pocket):
The interior of my BundleMe is a wonderfully warm “minky”-type fabric (though there are other options, like my original infant carrier BundleMe is a sherpa style). All styles are machine washable and come in some great colors. In this photo you can see the soft fabric as well as how easily the center panel accommodates all types of stroller straps—another factor in making it so quick to pull on over your stroller:
We ended up bringing the whole family to the Walk, even though I wasn’t sure the big kids would be able to walk the whole three miles. It ended up being a really great experience for them and we were able to have them reflect on the blessings of good health and all of the hidden battles that others face that we may never know about on the surface. The snacks (provided by Wawa) were also a welcome motivator for them
The other moms on the team were provided the same adorable “Team BundleMe” hats for our babies, but everyone was allowed to choose her own style of BundleMe. I chose the “Urban” BundleMe in the Stealth color and that ended up being a very popular choice. Here is Jack along with a friend we made on walk day:
If Jack looks like a grump in all of the pictures, it is because it was well past time for his morning nap. Since he was so cozy in his BundleMe, he ended up falling asleep the second we started the walk and stayed asleep the entire time. I’m sure this is a good endorsement for the BundleMe, but it made for kind of lousy pictures as he was slumped over asleep in his stroller during the walk or looking grumpy from being tired (before) or having just woken up (after) lol!
All in all it was a great event for me, because, as you may have noticed, I haven’t been blogging much and I really want to get out more! This was a great opportunity to not only meet other moms of babies but of course help support a great cause.
Thanks again to BundleMe for sponsoring the Walk through a monetary donation in addition to providing me with product to review. All opinions in this post are my own.
