I mentioned in my first “Poo Free Summer” post that I would be having a giveaway here on the blog for some Huggies products and now I’m happy to share the opportunity with you!  The giveaway winner will receive 5 packages of Huggies Wipes shipped directly to their house, courtesy of Huggies!

Of course I’ve been talking a lot about both poo and wipes, both things I’ve never really talked about–or gave much thought to–before.  I mentioned that I always used Huggies wipes on Rayna from “day one” and I immediately found I have a major preference for the “Naturally Refreshing” variety.  Those are the cucumber-scented wipes in the light green package that looks like this:

Because if you have to be faced with a daunting diaper, why not have a little pleasant smell to counteract it, right?  That’s my theory since really at this stage in a child’s life it is impossible to be truly “poo free.”  I’m desperate for the day that Rayna will be potty trained, but she’s not showing any signs of being ready!  Do you remember when I tried to get her to participate in the Huggies Jean Diaper fashion show and she wouldn’t take her pants off?  Yeah, we’re still pretty much there.

So in this last “Poo Free Summer” post, I wish you many happy poo-free diaper changes until the time comes when we’re all really ”living poo free”!  Sure, we won’t miss changing stinky messes, but I’m sure diaper-related memories will give us parents some good chuckles in the future :)

To enter the giveaway: Just post a comment to enter!  In your comment, tell me your baby’s funniest or most memorable poo moment!  A random winner will be chosen Sept. 1st at 8 PM.

Optional: Interested in extra entries?  Add one comment for each of the following:  following Huggies on Facebook, following Huggies on Twitter, following me on Facebook, following me on Twitter and tweeting about this giveaway (tweet entry is limited to once per day): ” I want to Live Poo Free with @Huggies Wipes! Enter the #giveaway @queenmotherblog by 9/1: http://bit.ly/ddovsb ”

Good luck!

Disclosure:  I am being compensated for my participation as an ambassador in the Poo Free Summer campaign.  All of the statements I make regarding Huggies products are my honest opinions and not influenced by compensation.

I have been having one HECK of a summer, with finally selling my house, the move, the shore trips, Blogher, etc, etc. it seems that I have barely had a moment to prop my feet up and relax for realz.

And now I’m gonna spill the beans on another situation that is completely exacerbating my tired/overwhelmedness:  Yup, I’m pregnant!!!

Somewhere around 8 weeks to be exact.  And boy, have I been wanting to say something before now.  I found out almost immediately, since I pretty much felt like crap almost immediately, and slogging through the rest of my eventful summer with first trimester tiredness has been a real pita.

No, I am not puking up a storm or anything like that, but do you know what has been my cross to bear?  Outrageous fatigue.  I had it in my first trimester with Rayna too, where I felt like I could lay down and fall asleep on the floor in Grand Central Station.  Mercifully, I’m not working through this pregnancy (I used to try to sneak off into an empty conference room more often than I should have to lay my head on a desk and zonk), so Rayna still napping has been a HUGE blessing because it means a nap for me too :)

Ok, enough complaining, I just wanted to give a disclaimer for my behavior lately.  Really, attending Blogher and not even posting a recap yet?  I have a lot of posts in the pipeline, so you’ll see them sometime soon.  I’m hoping these next few weeks fly by or I just start to get some of my energy back soon.  I don’t even have the energy to play Bejeweled Blitz, what a sin! :)

For a little while I’ve been seeing people on Facebook voting for schools in a Kohl’s Cares contest, but I wasn’t really paying much attention (yes, it seems most people are starting to get tired of Facebook, am I right?).  Until I found out that my old school (I would say high school, but I went there much longer than that, 5th through 12th grade actually!)  is very, very close to winning half a million dollars!

Since most of you probably aren’t familiar with my school, it is Life Center Academy in Burlington, NJ.  It is a very small private school that doesn’t receive state or federal funding.  LCA and it’s parent church, The Fountain of Life Center, operate tons of charitable outreaches including scholarship programs, community events and their famous Easter play (which if you are remotely in the South Jersey area, you have probably heard of!)

Well I said all that to say that they are a very deserving school in the Kohl’s Cares contest and casting votes for them is super easy and doesn’t cost a thing.  All you have to do is click this link and place 5 votes for Life Center Academy in Burlington, NJ and if you could share it on Facebook or Twitter and encourage others to do the same, then you’re a doll.  You can still vote for other schools as well, but time is ticking to get LCA into the top twenty.  As of right now they are #30!!

Thanks a bunch for your help, I know they are looking for anyone to spread the word and since I have such a big platform here on the blog ;) I thought it was the least I could do!
